She combined BOKS and PE materials to create fun and engaging physical education lessons, leading to a significant improvement in the students' enthusiasm for exercise. The BOKS project, a collaboration between WVI and Sun Life, enhanced the PE curriculum by incorporating cognitive training and education on healthy nutrition. Mrs. Elan's dedication and innovative approach have made a positive impact on the students, and she has received strong support from her colleagues and the school principal. Currently, the BOKS program is being implemented for all students from grades one to four, with Mrs. Elan successfully motivating the children to embrace physical activity and exercise.

The BOKSproject was initiated in an elementary school in South Central Timor Regency inNovember 2023 by Mrs. Elan. This 20-year-old woman holds the dual roles of ahomeroom and Physical Education (PE) teacher due to the limited number ofteachers at the school. Mrs. Elan has successfully created enjoyable and highlyanticipated PE lessons for the children without complaints and with full enthusiasm.

"When I first participated in the BOKS activity, I felt that BOKS brought about anextraordinary change in PE lessons. Previously, I noticed that the childrenlacked enthusiasm and were only focused on a boring material. However, after attending the BOKS training, I began designing more enjoyable PE lessons,"she said. The BOKS project, a collaboration between WVI and Sun Life, did not change but enhanced the PE materials. Additionally, the children were trained cognitively while engaging in more enjoyable physical activities. They were also educated about healthy and balanced nutrition.

Mrs. Elanis a young teacher known for her creativity, enthusiasm for learning newthings, and willingness to share her knowledge generously. Despite being a high school graduate working as a temporary teacher while pursuing her bachelor'sdegree, her dedication to nurturing strong and healthy generations remains unwavering. Mrs. Elanalso receives incredible support from her fellow teachers.

"Ibu Elan is creative and intelligent. It is a blessing for us to have such a greatteacher at our school. We are very confident that she is capable and will havean extraordinary impact on the children and the school through BOKSactivities," said Ibu Dina, the principal.

The elementary school where Mrs. Elan teaches has entered the third week of implementing BOKS. This program is carried out for all students from grades one to four, totaling 69 children.

"What motivates and energizes me to run BOKS is that when I first joined this elementary school, the children had many misconceptions about PE. Even simple movements were challenging for them, and there was a sense of laziness andfear," she said. Mrs. Elan then took the initiative to change the children's mindset regarding the benefits of exercise. "After attending the BOKS training, I tried to integrate BOKS and PE materials to teach the children, and I succeeded in making them more enthusiastic about exercising because they were exposed to many new things," she said.

Through BOKS activities, Mrs. Elan also realized that its implementationis straightforward and can be conducted by anyone, regardless of their background, age, as teachers, assistants, or facilitators. When replicated, the BOKS materials can make PE activities more appealing to children because they are both fun and promote health simultaneously.
