Teman Kincir Boost Children's Enthusiasm for Physical Activity at RPTRA

Haris, from an RPTRA in East Jakarta, collaborates closely with Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) to plan activities for children. The Build Our Kids Success (BOKS) program, started in January 2024, has significantly increased children's involvement at the RPTRA. A group of young volunteers, called WVI's Kind Circle, has been instrumental in the success of the BOKS program. Their presence has increased children's participation and helped manage activities at the RPTRA effectively. Haris has committed to organizing activities at the RPTRA whenever possible.

Haris, the administrator of a Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) in East Jakarta, has a deep connection with Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI). He is excited about working with WVI again to organize enriching activities for children at the RPTRA. The RPTRA is located strategically and has a large open space that has been utilized for engaging activities for both children and adults.

The Build Our Kids Success (BOKS) program, in place since January 2024, has significantly boosted children's participation  at the RPTRA. Through BOKS activities, children get to meet new faces, making them more eager to engage in the RPTRA's programs.

A group of young volunteers, known as WVI's Teman Kincir (Kind Circle), has been instrumental in the success of the BOKS program. Their dedication and enthusiasm have left a lasting impact on the children, making them feel cared for and valued.

The presence of these volunteers has not only increased children's participation but has also helped the RPTRA's administrators in managing the children's activities effectively and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for play. "The BOKS activities at the RPTRA have concluded, but the children eagerly anticipate their return." said Haris. Haris recognizing the significance of mentoring children during playtime, has committed to organizing activities at the RPTRA whenever possible.

The implementing BOKS at this RPTRA has highlighted the importance of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle beyond the school environment, with the involvement of young adults playing pivotal roles in interacting with children and encouraging various activities.
